Menopause equals mood swings. You know, where the slightest request from your husband can cause you to go off. On the other hand, perhaps the cries of your child for a new Playstation game makes you lose it. Mood swings, which can trigger the sudden onset of crying, play a significant role in the menopause game and are often one of the first things women notices that cause her to suspect perimenopause. Characteristics of menopausal mood changes include extreme irritability, concentrated anxiety, depression, indifference (neutral feeling to both good and bad situations), and nervousness. Menopause and mood swings work together because changes in hormonal levels (most notably, progesterone and estrogen levels) take place. For one, hormone levels may affect the level of (the emotional chemical) in the brain, causing depressive symptoms, which can be treat naturally. Women often times feel insecure and irrelevant about themselves and their current roles, contributing more to feelings of worthlessness.
For many women, the change, as they call it can cause many mixed emotions. Many women are glad their days of PMS and bleeding are done with for good. It is also common to feel great sadness that you will no longer be able to have children, even if you do not want any more. Sometime it is hard for our partners to understand why we are all messed up and moody. It is known it is the hormones but there is also the emotions that go along with it. A great way to talk about how you feel and not have to drive your partner crazy is to join a support group with other women suffering the same things you are. Do not get caught up with all of this turmoil, find a group that will work for you. There are so many out there to choose from today. It does not matter if you work long hours and do not have the right schedule to attend a bunch of meeting. There are so many places to find women like yourself today.

For those women who have busy schedules or have no desire to sit face to face once a week with other people online support groups can offer many great benefits. There are the ones that have ongoing threads with questions and answers from others going through the same thing, these are called forums. It will be a place to go to ask a question and receive answers. You can even just post about your emotions, gain support, and know you are not alone in your feelings. Some of these forums also have a chat room where you can talk in real time with people who respond immediately. Online support groups are great and also run 24 hours a day 7 days a week. So no matter when or why you feel awful and need some support the group is always there. You will not have to remember all the week's emotions and irritants to bring with you to a weekly group.
You can also choose to go to a weekly or monthly support group that is run by a therapist or counselor. You can find a group like this through your doctor or any hospital bulletin board. Here you will be face to face with other women in your area going through the same thing you are. The good thing about a group like this is that everyone is in the same area and get meet outside the group as well. Many women in these support groups have a lot in common other than menopause and find new friends who they can completely relate to. This is also a great reason to get out of the house once a week and be with others who understand what you are feeling. This will make things easier for you and your partner, as well. Sometimes having that one-day per week to be with other's in the same emotional state you are in can really ease the tension at home. No matter what type of menopause support group you choose make sure it works for you and helps you through this emotional and physically draining time. No one should have to suffer through the throws of menopause alone. There is some type of support out there for everyone.
